Hiring the theatre

The Thomas Hardye Theatre is available for a variety of bookings. The space is extremely flexible and can therefore accomodate a range of events, including music concerts, dance showcases, award ceremonies, plays, celebration evenings, workshops, lectures, etc. Please visit the Gallery for examples of past bookings.

As well as hiring the space, customers have the option to hire the technical equipment and a technician. Due to health and safety, you need to hire a technician if you wish to use the stage lights, stage mics or our sound desk. We also offer a range of equipment that can be operated without a technican. This includes a projector that can connect to a laptop, sound equipment that can connect to a mobile device or laptop and a number of tie/handheld mics. All of the equipment is stored in the wooden lectern at the front of the theatre.

We are keen to provide the perfect audience environment for your booking and therefore have raked seating (capacity of 336, 320 if you book the technician) which gives optimal sightlines. We are keen to accomodate your individual needs and therefore can arrange the theatre to best suit you. This includes the use of tables and chairs or could remove all seating completely to provide maximum space. Please include any special requirements on the Theatre Booking sheet and we will do our upmost to fulfil them.
